Dose & Code is my public notebook for exploring where pharmacy practice, software, and practical problem-solving meet.
I am Richard, a pharmacy intern who likes building things. I work close to the realities of healthcare while spending my free time learning software, self-hosting, writing, and whatever else keeps my brain busy.
What you will find here
- Pharmacy practice: observations about workflow, communication, and the problems worth solving.
- Software and tools: technical write-ups about the systems I build and the trade-offs behind them.
- Building in public: honest progress notes, bugs, experiments, and decisions that do not fit in a polished case study.
- Personal notes: books, photography, and other interests that make the journal feel like a person rather than a portfolio.
Where to start
Start with why I built Dose & Code, browse the topics, or read the project case studies. The first major project is a QR medication reminder that turns a pharmacy workflow into a calendar event without requiring an app or an account.
A note about AI
I use language models as development tools for code review, brainstorming, and debugging. I remain responsible for the final writing and implementation, and I will disclose meaningful AI involvement in project write-ups.
Boundaries
This site is not medical advice and does not replace a conversation with a pharmacist, prescriber, or other qualified professional. I do not publish identifiable patient information, and opinions here are my own rather than those of an employer or affiliated organization.
Build carefully. Write honestly. Stay curious.
